Rain World is an experience like no other. I know it sounds like a headliner, like an “it makes you feel like Spider-man”-ism. But for me, Rain World really did trap my consciousness into the body of a simple slugcat. I became a cog in the machine, another inhabitant of a world that had existed before me, and would continue to thrive long after I was gone.
In Rain World, you must carve your own path in the world. You must fill your niche in this living ecosystem. You are a slugcat, separated from your family, surviving moment to moment as you struggle against predators, struggle to find prey. You’re forced to adapt to new environments; learn what you should and shouldn’t eat, which creatures can be helpful, which should be avoided, and the best way to do just that. You learn to utilise your surroundings to your advantage.
